A look at Boulder’s current musical landscape — the artists, producers, and community builders shaping the next era of the city's cultural identity.
Confirmed Guests: Amanda Kelso (CEO, Sundance Institute), Dave Kennedy (Roots Music Project), Joe Hovancak - Moderator (Caruso Ventures), Riley J (musician)
Why it Matters: In the 1970s and 80s, Boulder helped shape the soundtrack of a generation through Caribou Ranch, the legendary recording studio tucked in the mountains near Nederland. It became a haven for artists like Elton John, Chicago, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, and John Lennon — a sanctuary of sound that gave rise to iconic albums and Grammy-winning tracks.
Fast forward to today: Boulder continues to thrive as a hub for music and innovation. At the same time, it’s becoming a key player in the rise of the Immersion Experience Economy — a growing movement where technology, storytelling, and emotion intersect to create rich, interactive cultural experiences. From immersive concerts to virtual production and next-gen media, Boulder is poised to lead. These sessions are designed as the cultural heartbeat of the festival — weaving Boulder’s storied music past with its emerging role as a leader in creative technology and immersive cultural expression.
